<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Educational psychologists operate at the intersection of multiscientific knowledge and practical intervention; the effectiveness of their work is determined not only by professional skills, but also by epistemic competence (from the Greek episteme – scientific knowledge; the ability to comprehend and understand new knowledge, interpret it correctly, critically evaluate and transpose knowledge into practical solutions). The system "higher education – additional vocational education (AVE)" today faces a paradox: despite an excess of educational content, there is a deficit of methodological reflection among specialists in the psychological and pedagogical profile. Thе article systematizes approaches to defining "epistemic competence", substantiates a conceptual basis for the development of it among educational psychologists in the continuum "university – AVE", proposes an integrative model of this process, describes the educational, organizational and didactic mechanisms for implementing the model, methods for evaluating results and implementation tools; It has been proven that a high level of the competence development distinguishes professionals from amateurs in the field of psychological and pedagogical intervention. The conclusion emphasizes the need to implement an epistemic approach in the continuing vocational education system for educational psychologists to combat the spread of pseudoscientific practices and improve the quality of psychological and pedagogical assistance.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>эпистемические компетенции</kwd><kwd>педагоги‑психологи</kwd><kwd>непрерывное профессиональное образование</kwd><kwd>вуз</kwd><kwd>ДПО</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>epistemic competencies</kwd><kwd>educational psychologists</kwd><kwd>continuing professional education</kwd><kwd>university</kwd><kwd>additional vocational education</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Daniels L. and Alston L.
