<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article considers the program «KUBERZNAYKA: travel from the future to the past with Russian cubes» as an innovative means of developing skills of the 21st century among younger students. The pedagogical value of constructive activities within the framework of KUBER travels, contributing to the formation of creativity, critical thinking, communication, self-organization and engineering literacy, is justified. The program integrates elements of the STEAM approach and project activities, which allows you to build training on the principles of personality-oriented and activity-oriented approaches. Both the theoretical foundations of the program and the results of the pilot implementation in educational practice are analyzed. The pedagogical conditions for the effective formation of meta-subject competencies in primary schoolchildren are being clarified. Particular attention is paid to the potential of plot-role formats that contribute to the development of initiative, visual thinking and reflection. The conclusion is made about the high degree of compliance of the program with the current requirements of Russian education and the directions of its scaling and improvement are indicated. The article is addressed to educators, methodologists and developers of educational programs interested in the practice of developing functional literacy and soft skills in elementary school.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>навыки XXI века</kwd><kwd>начальная школа</kwd><kwd>инженерное мышление</kwd><kwd>проектное обучение</kwd><kwd>КУБЕР</kwd><kwd>конструирование</kwd><kwd>креативность</kwd><kwd>мягкие навыки</kwd><kwd>конструктивная деятельность</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>skills of the XXI century</kwd><kwd>elementary school</kwd><kwd>engineering thinking</kwd><kwd>project training</kwd><kwd>KUBER</kwd><kwd>design</kwd><kwd>creativity</kwd><kwd>soft skills</kwd><kwd>constructive activity</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">OECD The future of education and skills 2030: OECD learning compass.
